    Travel to Whiteman Air Force Base for “Wings of Whiteman.” Enjoy the incredible bi-annual airshow and see the magnificent birds fly. You may see the Stealth Bomber or even the B-29, watch as these magnificent planes take flight. The show will feature the F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team. (Bring a lawn chair.)

  1. The Great American Family Campout

    Come join us for the 12th Annual Great American Family Campout. Whether you are an experienced camper or just looking for an activity to share with your family, this is your opportunity to sleep under the stars in the safety of the largest park in Johnson County. The package includes passes for one pedal boat rental, admission to the beach, and tickets to the Theatre in the Park's production of "Annie." Campers will need to bring their own camping equipment (tents, sleeping bags, etc.) Saturday evening dinner is NOT provided. Bagels, juice, and milk will be provided Sunday morning. This family-friendly event is just $30 for a family of up to 4, $10 for individuals, and three and under are free. Register today at, click on the “Register for Activities” button and do a barcode search for 19354 for a family, 19355 for individuals, and 19356 for kids three and under.

The Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center holds the museum’s two-dimensional collection, including manuscripts, maps, photographs, and quilts.
