Stretching from Iola to Humbolt, this old railway offers a unique trail. The Southwind crosses an old railway bridge, is tree-lined, and offers views of small farms. Lunch at Sam and Louie’s in Iola, Kan. Lunch costs on your own.
E = Easy (Smooth, even trail with slight elevation increases).
Find your favorite trails all over the region! We provide transportation and a lunch reservation at a local restaurant close to our destination. Lunch costs on your own. Depart from Antioch Park. Return times vary. Inclement weather date is the following week. Staff will determine if weather conditions are suitable for hiking. Please bring your own water bottle. Please register at least one week prior to departure.

These parent and child experiences are designed to encourage creativity, coordination and enhance awareness of the natural world. All children must be accompanied by a participating adult.
