  1. Climbing and Rappelling Camp (Ages 12 - 15)

    June 17, 2019, 9:00 AM - June 20, 2019, 4:00 PM @ Ernie Miller Nature Center

    Experience the 40 ft. tower climbing up and rappelling down. Learn how to tie knots, belay, and team belay. This instructional camp will focus on learning the skills needed for climbing and rappelling. We will swim and canoe in the afternoons. Each participant will need a health and liability form signed by a parent or guardian to participate. Campers must be 12 years old by the first day of camp due to the high-risk nature of this camp. Participants will meet at Ernie Miller Nature Center. For more information call Outdoor Adventure Specialist Lysa Holladay Dvorak at (913) 856-8849. See page ?? for Nature and Science Camp Refund Policy. Note: there is no before and after care provided for this camp. Enrollment is limited to 24 campers.

  2. Animal Tales Storytime - Rockin' Reptiles (Ages 2 - 6 with Adult)

    Join a park naturalist for animal stories and surprises geared for preschool age children. Come listen and learn. Meet a special animal friend every time. All children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Program held indoors.

  3. Amphitheater Programs - Down by the Pond (All Ages)

    June 21, 2019, 7:00 PM - 7:45 PM @ Ernie Miller Nature Center

    Bring the family to the Amphitheater on Friday evenings this summer for entertainment and educational experiences. The Amphitheater is an outdoor facility with seating for approximately 150 people. During inclement weather or excessive heat, programs will be held in the Nature Center. For more information, call (913) 826-2800. Each program is approximately 45 minutes to one hour in length and begins at 7 pm. Sorry, no credit card admission sales. DOWN BY THE POND - Enjoy an evening of stories, pictures, and poems celebrating the unique inhabitants and ecosystem of ponds just like the one found at Ernie Miller Park. This program will also explore the remarkable metamorphosis that happens over the life cycle of the American toad, who will also be in attendance!
