NEW MASTERS COACH - NICK BUSCH

We are excited to introduce our newest member to the coaching staff for Masters Swimming at SMSD Aquatic Center. Nick Busch may be a familiar face to those of you that swim in the mornings as he is already a staff member here at SMSD Aquatic Center. 

Nick swam for Purdue University (1973 - 1977). Nick was a 4 year letterman, co-captain of the swim team his senior year and was a sprint specialist. From 1977 - 1979 Nick served as a graduate assistant coach for Purdue University. 

Nick has competed in several open water / ocean races and consistently placed high in his age group. 

Nick's first practice will be Wednesday, September 1st. Please join us in welcoming Nick to the SMSD Aquatic Center Masters Swimming coaching team. 

UPDATED SMSD AQUATIC CENTER MEMBERSHIP RATES

Effective September 1, 2021

SMSD Aquatic Center Memberships Now  Include Regularly Scheduled Master Practices

Starting September 1st, the SMSD Aquatic Center membership will include regularly scheduled Masters Swimming practices at the SMSD Aquatic Center. Prior to this, a Masters Swimming  $10.00 add-on could be selected for memberships. No longer will this add-on be needed to participate in regularly scheduled practices. 

All current memberships with the Masters add-on will be switched to a regular membership and members will receive a pro-rated refund. These changes will be processed today 8/31/2021 and you will receive emailed receipt showing your amount of refund you will be receiving. All refunds will be applied to your credit card on file or by check if we do not have a credit card saved on file. 

Membership Rate Increase for 2022

The SMSD Aquatic Center is scheduled for membership rate increase on all even years. These increases are scheduled to offset increase in costs of goods and services that are experienced. These rate will automatically increase for monthly auto-debit memberships. Annual and Single Month memberships will be effective for any memberships bought or renewed in 2022. FUTURE PRACTICE DATES 

Future practice dates have been placed on the SMSD Aquatic Center - Masters Practice Calendar through May 21, 2022. Please note that all practice dates are subject to change. 

There are some dates that are marked with a purple circle and labeled as tentative. On these dates we are working with the Shawnee Mission School District to try to finalize. These will be updated as these dates are finalized. 

FACILITY GUIDELINES  (Effective 8/06/2021)

Due to high community transmission rates of the COVID-19 in the county and lack of vaccine availability for all individuals, the Shawnee Mission School District (SMSD) will require masking of everyone in all district facilities until further notice. 

All patrons entering the SMSD Aquatic Center must wear a mask, and mask must be worn entire time they are within the facility. While swimming masks may be removed, but masks should be removed right before swimmer enters the water and placed on immediately when exiting the water. 

LAP LANE AVAILABLILITY

• Mondays & Wednesdays: 5:30 am - 10:00 am & 4:00 pm - 8:30 pm.
• Tuesdays & Thursdays: 4:00 pm - 8:30 pm
• Fridays: 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm

• Saturdays: 7:30 am - 11:30 am
