New Canvas Painting with a Brush and Beans program for 50 Plus is July 23

Canvas Painting Coffee

A fun class of step-by-step canvas painting techniques designed for beginners is being offered by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District in late July.
Canvas Painting with a Brush & Beans is the name of this single-session program. Brushes and art supplies included, coffee beans brewed to enhance friendly conversation! Take home your work of art and feel proud of your new-found talent.  To find this program in the My JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 plus and then under fine & performing arts. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “art.”
This program takes place beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 23, at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood Dr., Roeland Park. The cost for one two-hour program is $35 per person for Johnson County residents or $38 for nonresidents. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359 or register online at
While JCPRD’s 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the 50 Plus Department at (913) 826-3030 for space availability.
The My JCPRD Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches.
