Adults can enjoy an evening on the water kayaking around Shawnee Mission Park Lake during a program being offered in early October by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District. Physical distancing and COVID-19 safe practices will be observed during this program.
Evening Kayak Excursion - Beginner is the name of this program, which is for ages 18 and older. Participants may hear the croaks and splash of frogs, the hooting of owls, and will have the chance to view the park from a different perspective. Kayaks and life jackets are provided. This beginner excursion starts with a safety briefing and instruction. Basic swimming skills are required, and participants should dress for the weather. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
