Adults can get outdoors and enjoy boating and fishing with access to boats and banks during a new special event offered in late September at the Johnson County Park and Recreation District’s TimberRidge Adventure Center. Social distancing and COVID-19 safe practices will be encouraged during this program.
This program is called Sunday Lake Fun, and is for ages 16 and older. Participants can come and go, or stay for the entire four-hour event. Before fishing, anglers are required to have a Kansas fishing license, which will not be sold on site. A separate JCPRD fishing permit is not required at the TimberRidge site, but keep in mind fishing is catch and release only. Be sure to bring your own fishing equipment.
To find this program online at JCPRD.com, browse first under adult then under nature & outdoors. When using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “fishing.”
Sunday Lake Fun will take place beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20, at the TimberRidge Adventure Center, 12300 S. Homestead Lane, Olathe. The cost for this four-hour program is $15 per person for Johnson County residents or $17 per person for nonresidents, including adults. Preregistration is required for this program.
