Three different yoga programs for adults begin in early August at Mill Creek Activity Center

Morning Flow Yoga

These programs are:  Yoga, Yoga Fusion, and Yoga Beyond Basics. These classes will all meet at the Mill Creek Activity Center, 6518 Vista Drive, Shawnee. Social distancing and COVID-19 safe practices will be observed during these programs. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “yoga.”

The class called simply “Yoga” will help participants of all levels lengthen muscles while increasing both muscle and bone density. This low-intensity program can also improve circulation, regulate metabolism, increase flexibility, and help with coordination. One will take place beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays beginning Aug. 3 (course ID 31533), and involves five 50-minute sessions at a cost of $39 per person for Johnson County residents, or $43 per person for nonresidents. Another class will take place at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Aug. 5 (course ID 31541) and involves six 50-minute sessions at a cost of $47 per person for Johnson County residents, or $52 per person for nonresidents.

Yoga Fusion is an eclectic moderate-intensity workout class which explores a fusion of yoga styles to improve flexibility, stamina, strength, and balance. Participants will use yoga, Pilates, balance balls, bands, and light weights to strengthen, stretch, and connect. This class will take place beginning at 6:40 p.m. on Mondays beginning Aug. 3 (course ID 31572). The cost for five 50-minute sessions is $39 per person for Johnson County residents, or $43 per person for nonresidents.

Yoga Beyond Basics is a moderate intensity class that lets participants experience yoga where they move a little faster, work deeper into the poses, and explore breathing practices more deeply. Before enrolling for this program, participants should be comfortable in a basic yoga class. This class will take place beginning at 6:40 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning Aug. 5 (course ID 31566). The cost for six 50-minute sessions is $47 per person for Johnson County residents, or $52 per person for nonresidents.
