Hand and Foot card tournament planned for Dec. 13 at New Century Fieldhouse

Card Player

Hand and Foot is an addictive card game similar to canasta, and those who have caught the bug are invited to an mid-December tournament being planned by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.

This Hand and Foot Tournament is planned for Thursday, Dec. 13, at the New Century Fieldhouse, 551 New Century Parkway, near Gardner. Random partners for this event will be assigned onsite. The tournament setup will include more than two hours of play. Teams with the most points at the end of this time will be the winners. The top three scoring teams will be awarded. Snacks will be served. To find this program in the My JCPRD Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under special events and then under 50 Plus. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “cards.”

This program will begin at 1 p.m. The cost for this three-hour event is $7 per person for Johnson County residents or $8 per person for nonresidents. For more information or to register, call (913) 826-2830.

While JCPRD’s 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the 50 Plus Department at (913) 826-3030 for space availability.

The My JCPRD Activities catalog is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches.
