    Join us for this annual walk and push yourself to the limit up the first Konza hill. Beautiful views of the prairie are worth the effort. After your walk of either two, four, or six miles, enjoy lunch at the Little Apple Brewery in Manhattan. Lunch costs on your own. M = Moderate (Natural or paved trail with elevation changes and variety of terrain) Recommended for participants with good balance and experience on nature trails. Use of hiking boots and walking sticks optional. Find your favorite trails all over the region! We provide transportation and a lunch reservation at a local restaurant close to our destination.     As darkness falls, walk through the trails of Ernie Miller Park and listen to the stories of long ago. Characters from the past will share legends around the campfire. Expect a shiver down your spine and a mild case of goose bumps for those who dare enter the forest on this autumn evening. Group sessions begin every 15 minutes and program is approximately 1½ hours.   25. Mildale Farm Fall Fest

    Bring the family and spend the day exploring the Mildale Farm property and enjoy a number of fall activities during this free public event. Visitors can explore and picnic on the 158-acre site including the 22-acre rental property as well as about 136 acres of adjacent agricultural property. Enjoy cider and hot cocoa and a large pumpkin patch. A tractor-drawn hayride will take visitors to a fire circle to roast marshmallows and enjoy storytelling. Catch-and-release fishing in any or all seven ponds, so bring your own bait and tackle. While district fishing permits have been waived for this event, Kansas residents ages 16 to 74 and nonresidents 16 and older need to have a Kansas state fishing license. Restrooms will be available in the large equestrian barn. For even more family fun today, be sure to visit Lanesfield School Fall Open House between 10 am and 5 pm, it’s just three miles from Mildale Farm!
