Posted on September 19, 2019 at 9:59 AM by Becky Burnside
Whether your travel aspirations include seeing Eastern Canada, Norway, Ireland, Australia, or New York City around the holidays, our
50 Plus Travel
Show on Thursday, Oct. 24, will inspire you to make these and other travel dreams a reality.
This travel show, which begins at 1 p.m. at
Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse
, 9101 Nall Ave., Prairie Village, will preview a number of upcoming extended travel opportunities. Several of the trips won’t be publicly announced until the next issue of the
My JCPRD Activities catalog
comes out in late November.
Among the trips to be highlighted at the October travel show are the following 2020 tours: The Best of Eastern Canada, July 15-23; Magical Rhine and Moselle, Aug. 10-19; Highlights of Norway, Sept. 11-19; Shades of Ireland, Oct. 3-12; From the Outback to the Glaciers, Oct. 27-Nov. 15; and Spotlight on New York City Holiday, Nov. 30 - Dec. 4.
“These trips are a great opportunity to meet new friends, see the world, and try new experiences,” said Recreation Specialist Kari Baesel.
Plus, if you sign up for a trip at the show you will receive $50 off!
This will be only the second time a travel show has been presented at the Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse, which just opened in early June.
“We are excited to have the travel shows at MBPC because we have a beautiful space to showcase these amazing destinations,” Baesel said. It allows everyone to meet the staff at the facility and learn what else we are offering at Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse.”
During this free three-hour event, participants will spend an afternoon meeting 50 Plus travel professionals while previewing our scheduled destinations and beautiful vacation spots. Learn about the benefits of choosing to travel with us and see photos of our past travel experiences. Brochures and itineraries are available to help you choose where you want to go on your first trip, your tenth trip, or your 50th trip!
These travel shows typically draw about 100 participants each season. Officials estimate that of those who participate in JCPRD’s extended travel opportunities, nearly 80 percent took part in a travel show before signing up.
