Explore the possibilities at TimberRidge Adventure Center
TimberRidge Adventure Center is one of Johnson County Park andRecreation District's premier facilities and boasts a wide range of opportunities for corporations, churches, non-profit groups and families in the Kansas City area. Our offerings include: rentals, challenge course team building, birthday parties, camps, special events and camping.
Great Outdoor Setting
TimberRidge is situated adjacent to Kill Creek Park located approximately five miles south of De Soto in Olathe, Kansas, TimberRidge Adventure Center encompasses over 200 acres of diverse landscapes divided by a series of ponds. The rugged southern half includes a box canyon and provides opportunities for exploration and discovery among the limestone outcroppings and heavily wooded slopes. The more open northern half, composed of upland prairie and scattered woodlands, is perfect for large group events and activities.
Access to TimberRidge Adventure Center is by reservation or registration only.

Looking for a campground? We offer camping for organized groups year round.
Rental Facilities
TimberRidge is a refreshing, unique, getaway for your special event. Our site is ideal for parties, family reunions, birthday, bridal showers, rehearsal dinner, weddings, receptions, scout activities, group camp outs, or any other event you can dream up. The site is available for public use by reservation or program registration only, thus ensuring your privacy during events. Contact us to customize your rental package today. Items are priced separately to easily tailor packages for specific event needs.
Challenge Course Programs
More than just a fun outdoor experience, our facilitator will guide your group through an insightful experience that encourages the group to grow and reflect together as a team. We offer a low (ground to 12 feet) or high (ground to 50 feet) challenge course experience for ages 12 and up. Contact us to book an event.
Birthday Parties
If you are looking for a unique outdoor experience for your child's next birthday party, check out our options. We offer birthday party packages for archery, BB Guns, , fishing, climbing and zip line.
School Field Trips
We offer a challenge course and school activity day field trips. Visit our school field trips page for more information or contact us to book an event. School field trips are generally from 9a-2pm. Students need to wear closed shoes, bring a sack lunch, a water bottle and a signed permission slip.
Summer Camps
We offer a variety of outdoor summer camps opportunities for youth. Summer camp programs include: Fishing & Canoeing, Climbing & Rappelling, Biking, JCPRD U Triathlon, Photography, Outdoor Adventure. Generally our camps begin and end at Ernie Miller Nature Center for a convenient drop off and pick up location for parents.
Annual Open House
Timberidge Adventure Center has an annual open house each year. Generally it is offered on the last Saturday in April and the facility is FREE and open to the public that day. All the amenities are available. Participants wanting to climb on the Hawks Nest Tower that day will need to preregister. Registration opens in February each year.
