A Park Police Officer's daily tasks varies on a daily basis. As a Park Police Officer, you are required to be one with an aptitude for - and dedication to - police work, public relations, visitor services, public speaking and education.
Job Description
Entry level officers takes calls for service, patrols to deter and detect crime, investigates complaints, cite and/or arrests law violators, assists park visitors, protects facilities and park resources, enforces Kansas laws and District Park Codes, leads outdoor recreation programs and presents educational programs on cultural and environmental topics. Scheduled hours provide for a 40 hour work week with overtime, holiday, weekend and shift work required.
Job Qualifications
For consideration an applicant must be a United States citizen, at least 21 years of age, able to pass physical and psychological examination, hold or obtain a valid driver's license, have no felony convictions, and pass a background investigation. A high school diploma is required. A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
