JCPRD Board Approves a Master Plan
The JCPRD Board approved a master plan for improvements to Mid America West Sports Complex (MAWSC) at their regular board meeting on September 20, 2023.
This plan will guide the development at MAWSC as currently planned in the JCPRD Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and allow phasing of the project to meet operational and site constraints. The improvements include a new entry gate and fanzone building, restrooms and concessions, new sports field lighting, conversion of 12 softball fields to synthetic playing surfaces, warm-up and batting cages, and spectator improvements. Spectator improvements include re-configured parking, shade structures, a playground, pedestrian lighting, improved walkways, drainage, and landscaping. The purpose of the master plan is to set the framework for the design to proceed into final design documents, planning submittals, and pricing documents in 2024. Construction is anticipated to start in late 2024 and be completed in 2026.
