Art Labs Summer Camp (Ages 12-17) 

Located at the Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center, intermediate to advanced art students can focus on the development of their own artistic niche through these skill building intensives focusing on art mediums like painting, machine sewing, character drawing, ceramics, making and more. 

Character Drawing

If you like to create characters and draw them out, this camp is for you. We'll explore figure drawing in different styles including anime and graphic novel styles. Students are encouraged to bring examples of previous characters to class with them.

Ceramics
AL Character Drawing
Flex those creative muscles and make some ceramics with us during this camp. You'll hand build, throw on the wheel, paint and glaze as you make functional and fun pottery throughout the week.

Intro to Machine Sewing

Learn how to use your sewing machine during this Art Labs camp!  Sew a number of small sewing projects as you learn how to thread your machine, change your bobbin and more as you get to know your sewing machine and sewing terminology. Students must provide their own machine, fabric & notions. A supply list will be sent out 2 weeks before camp starts.

Have you ever wanted to try out painting but weren’t sure where to start? During this skill building intensive camp you’ll get the opportunity to expand your skills and experiment with different types of paint under the guidance of our teaching artist and take home multiple paintings at the end of the week.
