These courses are offered via Zoom, an online video conferencing platform. Advanced registration is required. Programs are subject to meeting minimum registrations. Information on how to access the program will be sent no later than 9:00 am the day of the program to those who register/RSVP. Please register/RSVP for all programs at least 24 hours in advance.

Special Interest: Grieving Loss During the Holidays

The holidays can seem daunting, stressful, and lonely while grieving. Come for this workshop to learn, listen, and share with others. This class will benefit any adult who is grieving the loss of a loved one. Clara Sainte, Program Director with Gilda's Club Kansas City will provide information about grief as it specifically relates to the holiday season, and you will have the chance to meet with others virtually who are grieving.

The Lifestyle of Aviation- Learn about the benefits of general aviation and the lifestyle associated with the skill.  Hear how piloting can open up the United States for people that like to travel (without it having to be something that is only for the ultra-wealthy).  There is a common misconception that aviation is only for millionaires.  But there are a lot of opportunities that gives unprecedented access to this great nation through the air.

LOW INTENSITY: Join us for this virtual dance party from the comfort of your own home!  This virtual class is perfect for active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower intensity.

Special Interest: Cleaning Healthy, Cleaning Green

People spend 90 percent of their time indoors. Studies by the EPA show levels of pollutants to be 2 to 5 times higher inside homes than outside. Many of these pollutants come from household cleaning products. Indoor pollutants can be reduced by limiting the number of chemicals used indoors. With these guidelines you can improve your indoor environment, save money and help conserve natural resources.

Special Interest: Preparing for the Presidential Election 

Join Connie Schmidt, Election Commissioner for Johnson County, as she presents on how the Election Office is preparing for a historic, record-setting election in November. Learn more about the Election Office’s role in administering elections in Johnson County, the things voters can do to be ready to vote on (or before) November 3, and the precautions being taken to protect voters and election workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
