Enjoy the crisp autumn air while on a tractor-drawn hayride through the parks.
Hayride wagons are pulled by a tractor and are loaded with hay bales. Each reservation includes a 45-minute to one-hour hayride which concludes with a one-hour campfire, where apple cider and marshamallows await. Due to other scheduled hayrides, total time including campsite time cannot extend past two hours.
- Oak Ridge Parklands at Shawnee Mission Park, 7460 Ogg Road, Shawnee (hayrides are run daily)
- Heritage Park leaving from shelter 2 & 3, 14304 W. 160th St., Olathe (hayrides run Friday through Sunday)
Dates & Times
- Monday - Thursday (Oak Ridge Parklands only) - 4 pm and 6 pm
- Fridays: 4 pm, 6 pm, 7:30 pm, and 9 pm
- Saturdays: 2:30 pm, 4 pm, 5:30 pm, 7 pm, and 8:30 pm
- Sundays: 2:30 pm, 4 pm, 5:30 pm, and 7 pm
$7 per person, or $80 with 12 or less people (children 2 and younger are free)
A $30 deposit per wagon is due at the time the reservation is made and is applied toward the full amount due. The balance due will be collected the day of the hayride.
There is a maximum of 25 persons per wagon. One adult per 10 children is required.
Date and time changes must be made two weeks prior to the originally scheduled date and are subject to availability. A $20 processing fee is payable when making the change.
Deposits are nonrefundable unless canceled by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District. We do not cancel hayrides due to cold weather. If a hayride is canceled by JCPRD you will be notified two hours prior to your scheduled hayride, or you may contact the Ernie Miller Nature Center at (913) 826-2800.
Hayrides can be scheduled for dates between the third weekend of September to the Sunday before Thanksgiving Day.
To make a hayride reservation by phone with Mastercard, Visa or Discover please call (913) 831-3359, Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm, or come in person to the Registration Office (building D) at Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch Road, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
Hayride reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the actual hayride date.

Public Hayride Offerings
We also offer two public hayride sessions each season so you don't have to worry about reaching the minimum. For 2018, the public hayrides will be offered on Sunday, September 30 and Sunday, November 4.
