HP3 – Duathlon, 10K, & 5K
Whether you’re a seasoned veteran looking to add some more miles to your trusty running shoes or a first timer interested in gaining a little experience while having fun among a stunning landscape, HP3 has something for everyone! Athletes of all ages and ability can join the family-friendly event by participating in either the duathlon, 5K, or 10k.

This year’s 5K will focus on youth participation with fun giveaways and all racers receiving a participation medal! Additionally, Let Me Run KC, a non-profit organization offering a seven-week running program for pre-teen and teenage boys led by coaches from around the community, has chosen the HP3 5K as their celebratory run! Visit letmerun.org for more information about how Let Me Run KC is preparing boys for the long run.

With new courses utilized throughout the event’s history, Heritage Park has successfully hosted events for over 25 years and provides athletes with breathtaking lake views and spacious trail ways. The spring event date creates the opportunity for athletes to jumpstart training and kick-off the race season!

Your donation at checkout to the Johnson County Park and Recreation Foundation will help to financially support youth in our community with enrollment in JCPRD Summer Camps.

Duathlon Information
The USAT Sanctioned Duathlon Course is a 3.1 mile (5K) first and second run; and 15.33 mile bike (4 laps), partially hilly, located inside and outside of the park.

*The duathlon is open to teams choosing to complete the event in relay-format.

10K & 5K Information
All racers will run the first 5K on the same course leading back into the transition area. Once in the transition area, the 5K runners will be directed to the finish line, and the 10K runners will be directed onto the last half of their race. There are three 5K categories available: Youth (15 and Under), Adult (16 - 49), and Masters (50+).

5K Masters *NEW*
This race category is specific for individuals aged 50 and older interested in competing in a 5K race that is scored separately from the other 5K runners. JCPRD offers a Master’s Run/Walk Club that will meet weekly to help individuals build up their endurance for this 5K. For more information about the Master’s Run/Walk Club please call (913) 826-3032.
