A National Trails Day® celebration of
Johnson County's parks and trails.

Pack the picnic basket, gather your family and friends, and kick off the summer with a "daycation" in Shawnee Mission Park and Kill Creek Park. As always you'll find a fun-filled variety of facilities and activities to choose from, and on this special day all of them are free! This event coincides with JCPRD’s annual free fishing weekend when both state and district fishing and boating permits are waived.

Beach & Boating Fun
	10 am - 6 pm	Free admission to the Shawnee Mission Park Beach
	10 am - 7 pm	Free pedal boat & canoe rentals at the Shawnee Mission Park Marina
	12 pm - 6 pm	Free admission to the Kill Creek Park Beach
	12 pm - 6 pm	Free pedal boat and canoe rentals at the Kill Creek Park Marina

Special Activities in Shawnee Mission Park:
	9 am - 12 pm	Paws in the Park - Unleash your dog at the swimming beach for this free, once-a-year, canine water party.
	10 am & 11:30 am	Radio control model airplane demonstrations by the Shawnee Mission Radio Control Club at the RC Flying Field
	10 am - 2 pm	Animals from the Ernie Miller Nature Center and presentations by nature center staff
	10 am - 2 pm	Visit with a Park Police officer and explore a patrol vehicle
	10 am - 2 pm	Free GPS unit check-out for geocaching and trail exploration along the North Shore and Mill Creek Streamway trails
	11 am - 3 pm	Free sailboat rides and demonstrations by the Johnson County Sailing Society
