Tomahawk Hills Golf Course, built in 1910 and the oldest golf course in the metropolitan area, ranks as one of the area's most challenging public courses. Accessible from Midland Drive off I-435 in Shawnee, Kansas, Tomahawk Hills is a 250-acre complex set among the picturesque rolling hills adjacent to Shawnee Mission Park and the lowland area of Little Mill Creek. It offers golfers of all skill levels a challenging 18-hole championship course with over 6,000 yards of course which plays to a par 70. The facility also includes new carts, updated driving range, putting and chipping green and a club-house. The property also includes The Theatre in the Park offices and JCPRD's Tomahawk Early Childhood Development Center.

The JCPRD Patron Cards is a membership that offers benefits and daily discount at both JCPRD's golf courses.

Patron Card Benefits:
$1 off daily green fees Mon - Fri, $6 off on weekends & holidays before 2 pm & $3 off weekends & holidays after 2 pm.

Tee times up to 5 days in advance (or up to 7 days in advance for Annual Ticket holders).

Maintenance of recognized USGA handicap and eligibility in USGA events.

Member of US Golf Association, National Golf Foundation, KC Golf Association,
Kansas Golf Association, and the Missouri Golf Association.

Jay turned professional in 1974 after attending Johnson County Community College for two years where he was a member of the golf team that attended the National Junior College Region VI Tournament both years.

Jay became a member of the Professional Golfers' Association in 1980 and has been Head Professional at Tomahawk Hills since October 1990. Jay's experience has come from top clubs in the area such as Milburn, Dubs Dread, and Blue Hills. He has played in the Oldsmobile Scramble National Tournament in 1988 and, most recently, in 2001. Also, Jay was a qualifier for the regional National Club Pro Tournament in 1997.
