Tomahawk Hills Golf Course, built in 1910 and one of the oldest golf courses in the metropolitan area, this beautiful course ranks as one of the area's most challenging public courses. Accessible from Midland Drive off I-435 in Shawnee, Kansas, Tomahawk Hills is a 250-acre complex set among the picturesque rolling hills adjacent to Shawnee Mission Park and the lowland area of Little Mill Creek. It offers golfers of all skill levels a challenging 18-hole championship course with over 6,000 yards of course which plays to a par 70. The facility also includes new carts, updated driving range, putting and chipping green and a clubhouse.

New Driving Range Now Open at Tomahawk Hills Golf Course
Our new driving range is now open at the Tomahawk Hill Golf Course. The new driving range area is approximately 300 yards long with Zoysia grass and 12 state-of-the-art driving range mats for winter and wet conditions. This spacious range was designed for both driver and iron play and is ideal for individual and instructor practice sessions.

The new range is located west of the practice putting green and is open daily from dawn until 30 minutes before sundown. Range ball buckets are available for $3.50, $6, or $12.

New Tomahawk Hills Clubhouse
The new clubhouse opened for use in early March 2011 and is located directly east of the existing putting green. The 5,847-square-foot building features a metal roof, and a native stone and stucco facade. The building was constructed in the prairie style, which involves horizontal lines, broad overhanging eaves, windows grouped in horizontal bands, and integration with the landscape. Jay became a member of the Professional Golfers' Association in 1980 and has been Head Professional at Tomahawk Hills since October 1990. Jay's experience has come from top clubs in the area such as Milburn, Dubs Dread, and Blue Hills. He has played in the Oldsmobile Scramble National Tournament in 1988 and, most recently, in 2001. Also, Jay was a qualifier for the regional National Club Pro Tournament in 1997.
