Mill Creek Streamway Park is a beautiful linear
park with over 17 miles of pedestrian and bicycle trails. It also
consists of three miles of equestrian trails and open spaces for leisure pursuits
like jogging, picnicking, and nature hiking.
The trail extends from Nelson Island on the Kansas River, south through
the
cities of Shawnee and Lenexa, and ending in the City of Olathe.

A National Recreation Trail
In 2010, JCPRD's Gary L. Haller Trail in Mill Creek Streamway Park
was designated
by Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar as a National Recreation Trail (NRT). A regional
tourist attraction and a model trail for other communities in the region, it is the first trail in Johnson County to be honored with the NRT designation.
