Heritage Park is equipped with 10 multi-functional shelters including the Blackbob Island shelter and are available through out the year. View each shelter's amenities listed below.

Blackbob Island Shelter
A large capacity shelter, great for corporate outings, large reunions, and other group functions; on the lake, accessible by foot from Marina area. Blackbob Island Shelter is the only District shelter where the consumption of 3.2 Kansas beer is allowed. Beer is allowed on the island - you may not take beer off the island for consumption under any circumstance.

  • 30 tables (1 accessible), seating for 180-240 persons
  • 1 large, double-sided grill
  • Drinking water available
  • Electricity
  • Restrooms available nearby at Marina
  • Use Marina parking area
  • Boat rentals available for rental at Marina, in season (advance notice required)
  • The island will only accommodate games such as volleyball and badminton
  • Softball games should be played in the main park area
  • Fishing permitted; Kansas license and District permit required for ages 16-65
  • Amplified Sound Permit available by request at time of reservation (no fee)

    Please note: You may not collect money for an event on the park premises.
