The District responds to requests from the public and employees and makes honest and good-faith efforts to ensure all park patrons, recreational participants, and employees know of the opportunities available to them for their full participation and enjoyment of the park and recreational experience.
The District's Program Registration Form includes a statement that the District is committed to making reasonable accommodations as required by the ADA. Requests must be made two weeks or ten working days prior to the start of the program. There is a space provided on the form for the registrant to indicate what accommodation is needed.
A person with a hearing/speech disability can register for a program by
phone by calling the Antioch Park Registration Office's TDD at (913) 831-3342,
Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm or online
through our Activities Catalog. A person with a visual impairment who
wants to register for a program will be provided assistance as requested,
and forms may be transferred to a Braille format.
A patron requesting an accommodation should complete the ADA Accommodation/Action Request Form (Form #121A). A patron with a related complaint should complete the Citizen Complaint Form (Form #242).
An employee requesting an accommodation should complete the Request for Accommodation form (Form #121B). An employee with a related grievance should complete the Grievance Form (Form #237).
